Frequantly Asked Questions
What services do you offer?
Vitalis Wellbeing is an outpatient mental healthcare treatment centre. We offer treatment for a broad range of conditions using a combination of general psychotherapy and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR Therapy). These treatments are versatile and adaptable to individual cases and can be used for a wide range of complex mental health conditions.
During your treatment with us, you will be under the care of a clinical supervisor who will tailor your treatment programme to provide a specialised and unique holistic experience that addresses the body and mind and how they can work together to establish a healthier you.
How long will I remain engaged?
The length of time you spend working with our clinicians depends on your condition and your stage of the journey – there is no set or prescribed recovery time. At Vitalis, we have a strong focus on the individual and we monitor improvements closely to ensure your treatment programme is taking the right course. Every person is different, and each condition is unique. Your recovery could be brief if it’s focusing on one immediate issue, but if the condition is complex and layered it may have a longer treatment time.
Can you offer definite outcomes?
A person’s ability to recover is greatly influenced by their motivation to do so. If you go into your sessions with openness and a willingness to improve, you are much more likely to see improvements quickly. The therapies we offer have very different responses from person to person and how ingrained the types of thinking and behaviour are.
EDMR Therapy is a considerably faster therapy than other common methods, and significant results can be seen after a few sessions, whereas other therapies have lengthier timelines. We use general psychotherapy techniques in combination with EDMR Therapy as we believe they complement each other, and you can achieve a more holistic and complete recovery.
How does EMDR Therapy work?
Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR Therapy) is a safe and effective psychotherapeutic method used to aid recovery from PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic disorders, and other trauma-related conditions. It is a highly-regarded evidence-based treatment founded in 1987 and has been trialled and practised ever since. The concept of EMDR Therapy is based on the understanding that negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are the result of unprocessed memories. Treatment will involve recalling traumatising events while your therapist uses physical movement, which you will be asked to follow with your eyes. This treatment has the effect of reducing the negative thoughts and emotions associated with the event. Throughout your treatment, you will be guided by a compassionate, empathetic, and professional clinician.
Do you accept insurance?
We have created our treatment services to be affordable and inclusive – personal finance should not put a limit on your right to live a happy and healthy life. We accept payments from insurance companies, so check with your insurer to see if you’re covered. .
Are you residential?
We offer fully flexible outpatient, online treatment. We understand that fitting treatment into your life and busy schedule can put a barrier between you and the support needed for a full and sustained recovery.
You can attend our services while you continue to live your daily life. This enables you to make substantial and sustainable improvements to your health and well-being while fulfilling your responsibilities at work and home. While receiving our care, you can maintain connections with your support network and take part in the healthy aspects of your life. It also gives the benefit of being able to see and assess how the treatment is improving your life and daily activities.
We are here to help
Often, the hardest but most worthwhile thing we ever do is admit we need help.
Although it can seem daunting, our admissions process is designed to be as easy and welcoming as possible.
One of the things that sets Vitalis Wellbeing apart is how efficient our processes are – we know there isn’t time to wait around to be receiving professional, compassionate support, therefore once we have received a referral the designated therapist will contacted within one working day and an appointment will be offered to the client within a further 4 working days.
